Studio Policy
Dear Parents and Students,
I am honored to be your piano teacher, and it is my goal to help my students grow and develop as individuals and professionals. Our studio policy is a document highlighting and explaining some important points in the way the studio is operated.
Expectations:
All students are expected to be punctual, and be on time for their scheduled lesson.
All materials - sheet music books, theory books, technique books, and other printouts have to be organized, neatly kept, and always ready to be presented.
All students are expected to practice at home. Daily consistent practice is essential in order to make progress and improve. The amount of time spent practicing piano will depend on the student's age and personal goals that will be discussed individually with student and parents.
All students are expected to participate in Winter and Summer studio recitals.
Tuition and payments:
Your monthly payment is due on the first lesson of each month for the classes of that month.
There are additional fees for some books; registration fees for festivals, competitions, community service recitals, or other events outside of our studio that may be applicable.
Missed classes:
Consistency is absolutely necessary for successful learning. Missed classes will not be credited to your next month's tuition. Studio will make all possible efforts to schedule a make-up class in case of emergency and other serious reasons for missed class. Classes canceled by the teacher for any reason will be credited in full.
Lessons:
All lessons are individual lessons. There are 30, 45, and 60 minutes lessons offered.
However, we strongly recommend the following:
students ages 5 to 8 - 30 minutes class
students ages 9 to 12 - 45 or 60 minutes class
students ages 12 and older - 60 minutes class
Studio Etiquette:
Please be considerate and respectful to other students and parents. Enter and leave the studio quietly if another lesson is in session.
Please wash your hands before your piano lesson.
Please keep your nails short and clean.
In-person classes:
Teacher or student must cancel if feeling not well
There are no visitors allowed in the studio besides the student who is taking the class
Online classes:
We are lucky to have the alternative to in-person classes. Same rules apply.
Please be on time for your scheduled class
Stay organized to avoid wasting class time on looking for materials
Try to take care of internet connection issues prior to class
Combination classes:
We have an option to have a combination of online and in-person classes.
